Nelle ultime 24 ore il vento non ci ha mai abbandonato incrementando fino a 20/25 kn durante la notte. Da ieri continuiamo a macinare miglia verso west con rotta 240 prima sotto spi ed ora con genoa tangonato.
La navigazione continua ad essere piacevole anche se il caldo durante i turni di giorno si fa sempre più persistente mentre la notte la magia della luna ci illumina a giorno. Ogni tanto abbiamo qualche incontro con delfini e globicefali che passano qualche momento a giocare con la barca, ieri tra le attività di bordo con Jeremy e Kevin abbiamo provato a sistemare il mulinello, che si è rotto con l’unico pesce che ha abboccato e che abbiamo perso, purtroppo il mulinello non funziona ancora perfettamente e dovremo cercare una soluzione se vogliamo delle alternative alle scatolette e al cibo liofilizzato. Ieri mentre stavamo sistemando il mulinello mi hanno chiamato dicendomi che c’era un’ orca…mi si è gelato il sangue anche perché eravamo sotto spi, ma tempo che sono uscito non c’era piu’, io credo che abbiano visto un globicefalo o una balena più che un’orca, anche perchè le orche sono sempre in gruppo…

In the last 24 hours the wind has never abandoned us, increasing to 20/25 knots during the night. Since yesterday we have continued to grind miles towards the west with route 240, first under spinnaker and now with the genoa spinnaker.
Navigation continues to be pleasant even if the heat during the day shifts becomes more and more persistent while at night the magic of the moon lights us up like day. Every now and then we have some encounters with dolphins and pilot whales who spend a few moments playing with the boat, yesterday between the activities on board with Jeremy and Kevin we tried to fix the reel, which broke with the only fish that took the bait and that we lost, unfortunately the reel still doesn’t work perfectly and we will have to look for a solution if we want alternatives to cans and freeze-dried food.
We are sailing 130 miles from the Cape Verde Islands, which we should pass tomorrow evening

Yesterday while we were arranging the reel they called me telling me that there was a killer whale… my blood ran cold also because we were under a spinnaker, but by the time I went out it was no longer there, I think they saw a pilot whale or a whale more than an orca, also because orcas are always in pods…
