Questa mattina all’alba abbiamo avvistato l’Isola piu a nord dell’ Arcipelago di Capo Verde, Santo Antao: ci siamo dovuti spingere così a sud per cercare un po’ di vento e fino ad ora non ci possiamo lamentare. Nelle ultime 24 ore stiamo navigando fissi sotto spi con un aliseo di 15/20 nodi che ci ha permesso di fare 187 miglia nelle ultime 24 ore .
I prossimi giorni sembra che andremo incontro a giornate con meno vento e probabilmente scenderemo ancora più a sud.
La navigazione rimane molto piacevole anche se durante le ore diurne il sole scalda sempre di più. Unica nota negativa rimane la pesca che visto il prolungarsi di questa traversata sarebbe molto importante. Il terzo giorno si è rotto il mulinello e nonostante i tentativi di ripararlo ancora non funziona bene, stiamo provando a pescare senza ma con scarsi risultati, visto che ad oggi siamo a due pesci persi…

This morning at dawn we spotted the northernmost island of the Cape Verde Archipelago, Santo Antao: we are going to south to look for a bit of wind and so far we can’t complain. In the last 24 hours we have been sailing fixed under a spinnaker with a trade wind of 15/20 knots which has allowed us to travel 187 miles in the last 24 hours.The next few days it seems that we will experience days with less wind and we will probably go even further south.Navigation remains very pleasant even if during the daytime the sun gets hotter and hotter. The only negative note remains the fishing which, given the length of this crossing, would be very important. On the third day the reel broke and despite attempts to repair it it still doesn’t work well, we are trying to fish without it but with poor results, given that to date we have lost two fish…We are now at 17 02 N, 26 19 W with course 260
